Connections
I was talking the other day about how I needed to fix up some wiring in what I hope will soon be my son's room. When I mentioned that it was an Ethernet jack, a friend teased me about our boy (who will be 2 when he comes home from Guatemala, God willing) having an Internet connection already. We explained that it was my wife's office and we didn't put it in just for him.
Thing is, it didn't really seem that silly to me. At this point getting anything for him doesn't seem silly. I realize that people who already have kids tend to think differently than those who are waiting, and have been waiting for many years.
I got done with the wiring tonight. Right now his room is the only one in the house with a Cat 6 Gigabit cable. Yes, he will be spoiled.

I have children, and I don't think there's a thing wrong with it.
He'll be one tech-savvy kid! (and when he starts to play computer games, talk to me- i know all the good kid ones....)
It's your interest, so of course you are doing something for him that reflects that. I'm a book person, and I started buying books for my first child when I was pregnant...like he was going to be able to read Dr. Seuss at birth or something...
You'll find as a parent (God willing!) that there is always someone willing to tell you what you are doing wrong; you just need to do what feels right.
And that will be just fine. :-)

I have children and I don't think it sounds silly. When I was pregnant, I bought a dress for my unborn yet to know the sex child that I just couldn't stop thinking about. It was a 5T. That child was a boy... thre years later, I gave birth to a girl and it was four years from that date till she could wear the dress.... doesn't sound silly to me at all!

Hey, you can tell him the Ether Bunny put it in! (*sorry*)
Congrats, though. I'm adopted too!
