When customer service sucks
Today's gripe is about FedEx. It is supposed to be an overnight delivery service.
On Wednesday I dropped a FedEx envelope, complete with airbill, in a FedEx box in Cambridge, MA. So far, however, the tracking number has not shown up on FedEx website.
I know everyone makes mistakes, but when I tried to contact them through the form on their website about 10:30 today, all I've gotten back is a automatic response that told me nothing.
Do FedEx drop boxes not work? Is FedEx not responsible for what gets put there?
It seems if you do overnight delivery, you need to respond to questions a little faster.
My second complaint is about Western Union's auctionpayments.com site (formerly bidpay.com).
I had two problems with them. First, a payment was returned as undeliverable, sent out again, and never received. Second, they refused to approve a payment, but did not tell me this for about a week and a half.
Again, I used the form on their website to submit questions. With them, it took many days, and a second loud complaint, to get a confusing response.
Even now, the first payment is still listed as being sent, even though they told me it had been canceled.
Fair disclosure: I helped build one of the leading email response management software packages. I would love it if people used it, but when I'm the customer I just hope they use
something.
At least FedEx has a number I can call. Auction (non) payments doesn't list
any phone numbers. You have to write to them, via snail mail. Very high-tech.

I send a package by fedex. It was supposed to go to Botswana but it ends up in Bosnia. This was an important document. I call Fedex several times but each time they pass me to different departments. My favorite was when the lady didn't know where Botswana is and she said she would transfer me to the research department. I was laughing even though i was mad. Maybe this was their idea of customer satisfaction. Each time I called they said they would return my calls but never did. I finally got hold of someone who could give me an ETA. This was after 4 days of calling. She said it would arrive a week later. That is delayed by two weeks. But I could send a replacement. I asked if I could get credit for. She made it sound like I was trying to cheat them and told me that I would have to pay for it and then call back with the details. Really.. they made the mistake and sent it to the wrong continent and they can't let me do this the easy way. Now it was up to the next person i call to believe the whole story and give me a refund. having no choice .. I am frustrated. I drive to a different fedex location .. I dont want this one ending up in Elbonia.
I called up fedex a few days later and provided the information. I ask them if I am going to get a refund, she says it is going to be processed by the claims department. I made the shipment through fedex. What exactly do they need to verify? I have not had this much trouble filing any insurance claims. Even my taxes were easier than this.
A week later, I get a bill for the $74.91. I had paid for both shipments when I sent them. Its not like they were letting me do anything on credit. What the hell is this for? I call up fedex and the guy says i have to call back but in the notes it says that i am to be credited $74.91. So it seems the billing department blindly just send me a bill.
I have to call them up on monday and fight with them ... all this just to send one bloody package.
I am not going to send anything internationally. Fedex international just sucks. I haven't had any trouble with regular post or other services like DHL.

My name is Rostum Hernandez from the Philippines. I placed a money order online with Auctionpayments.com amounting to US$110.00.. I used my debit card to place my order but after a while, Auctionpayments.com replied me as: “ORDER DENIED”. I checked out my card's online account statement. I found out that the $118.00 left my account or was debited from my account. I wrote AuctionPayments.com thru emails for so many times, approximately 12-20x but I am recieving "auto generated mail responders". They told me that my card wasn't charged rather they just "authorized" or verified. They told me that they couldn't help me lift the HOLD for my funds. I called my bank and they told me that it's Auctionpayments.com responsibility. I've already submmitted a written dispute letter to my bank against Auctionpayments.com. I am very upset and dissappionted. Their policies and guidelines are unclear. They took my money without any communications for me. I am waiting for them to assisst me but no help from them whatsoever. I need my money back so I may be able to pay an obligation to an ebay auction. It's almost 30 days but no clear answers from them. I don't know where my money is. I am very confused because they avoid answering my emails. I am only an ordinary worker who earns a little and I don't want my money gone to those big companies. I have a baby and I need my money back to me. It is very unfair for me that I paid for NOTHING
