Can this get more complicated
I'd vowed to stop writing about FedEx, but I have to add this update.
Today, after concluding that my first attempt to "overnight" a package to my eBay seller
had been lost, I stopped payment on the money order, laid out cash for a second one, and sent
another overnight letter.
Tonight, the
first package suddenly arrived at the seller. Now I have to explain that they can't cash the first money order, but have to wait until tomorrow for the second one.
Apparently, the first package was somehow found by FedEx -- althought they never contacted me, even though I had complained about being able to find it before. And the tracking history, starting yesterday, suddenly appeared on the FedEx site.
I think I need to become a subsistence farmer or something; my current life is way too much of a hassle.

I have always wanted to make a site of stupid things companies do, just to expose them for their ineptitude. This is a great example.
Once I was sent a package via UPS. I wasn't home to receive it (and since they only deliver 9 - 5 on weekdays, I imagine many people aren't), so they just went to the apt.#1 in my building and gave it to them. The people in the first apt. claimed they never signed for it (though UPS has their name as a signature). Whatever with these people in the apt 1 who probably stole my package. When I called UPS to complain, we had this interchange:
UPS: our responsibility is only to get a signature from someone "on the premisis".
Me: But apt 1 isn't my premisis
UPS: Well, it's in the same building, so our responsibility is absolved.
Me: silence
Me: So if a random person was passing through the lobby - they could sign for the package and leave? Could another UPS driver who happened to be in the building sign for the package and take it?
UPS: Ma'am... perhaps you could have the shipper put a trace on the package. Taking someones package is a federal offense. You should go after apt. 1.
Me: You should have better shipping policies so people actually get their packages!
