I bet you didn't know

The first drummer for Steely Dan, Jim Hodder, died in his swimming pool, in 1990, at 43.

The most prominent drummer for the band after that, Jeff Porcaro, died while gardening at his house in 1992, at 38.

I'm not sure what this proves, but maybe the healthful effects of fresh air are overrated.

Shadows I took a few quick looks at the lunar eclipse tonight -- pretty cool. I was too wimpy to stand outside in the cold for very long, but fortunately we had a very good view of most of it from our front porch, and we could even see it pretty well from indoors. A nice warm fire and hot chocolate and good company were pretty cool too.

One of those rather empty moments Sometimes you really don't feel like doing anything but listening to "Angels of the Silences" by Counting Crows, and sometimes, after putting the song on your MP3 player, you are reminded that the file is corrupt because the CD was scratched or something, so you can't listen to it. Sometimes, you really don't feel like doing anything.
