os/2 porting mail list
i could prolly assist in the TCP/IP networking as well as/instead of
threads/ipc i also have significant experience in language design and
implementation, although i'm not sure this would be usefull for a straight
port...
on ibm, i'm happy to do a port anyway - even if released it would seem
unlikely to me that the ibm version will be released with source... more
likely that it would be released as a commercial product - this is
re-enforced by their 'clean-room' approach.
porting tools - concur
i have a lead time in getting the tools and a current os/2 environment
established as i am not currently working with os/2.
also, i am currently clearing the way for my employer to relinquish any
proprietary rights over code i write on behalf of the port. for myself,
anything i produce becomes the property of my employer (notwithstanding
suns licence) even if done in my own time. others should also formally
clear the way, if appropriate, otherwise we end up in a mess when we
finished!
